Job ID: 60617 Location: UMKC Volker Campus Full/Part Time: Full-Time Hiring Department UMKC Counseling Services Job Description The selected candidate will have a leadership role as the Liaison to our Office of Equity and Title IX, Women's Center, and Resources, Intervention, Support, and Education (RISE). The candidate will provide individual and group services to students impacted by relationship power and violence. The candidate will provide trauma informed training to staff and collaborate on outreach programming on topics such as interpersonal violence. The position also provides a full range of generalist clinical services including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, assessment, supervision, and training. Service provision includes face-to-face and tele-psychological psychotherapeutic services to our community. The selected candidate must be prepared to provide services to an incredibly diverse, non-traditional student population. Essential Job Functions Provides individual therapy, group counseling, crisis intervention, clinical supervision, outreach, and consultation services to the university community. Provides clinical services to diverse client populations and whose clinical work, supervision, and community intervention is infused with ethical and cultural humility and who demonstrates clear interest and commitment to all dimensions of diversity. Evidence of strong generalist clinical skills. Demonstrates effectiveness in assessment and intervention with a wide range of clinical issues and complex diagnostic concerns. Demonstrates knowledge of developmental issues of non-traditional college students and commitment to student success. Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrated in speaking, listening, and writing. Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in developing outreach education programming. Consults with faculty and staff regarding student problems, training, program and organizational issues. Represents Counseling Services on University committees and participates in the Division of Student Affairs programs as assigned. Demonstrates ability to work collegially and collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student organizations. Other duties as assigned. Shift This position requires rare evening and weekend hours (e.g., for new student orientations or specialized outreach programming). Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work and relevant licensure (or eligible to be licensed within 12 months) within the State of Missouri. Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Active full licensure as a Professional Counselor or obtain licensure in the State of Missouri within 12 months of hire is required. Active full licensure as a Professional Counselor or obtain licensure in the State of Kansas is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations including college age students. Experience working in a University/College Setting. Clinical supervisory experience of Masters and/or Doctoral level trainees/interns. Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated minimum hiring range for this position has been established as starting at $65,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
