Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and behavioral health strategies. Implement crisis intervention protocols to support clients experiencing acute psychological distress or relapse episodes. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records using ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10). Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, and community agencies to coordinate care and facilitate seamless service delivery. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC) or equivalent credential. Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA compliance requirements. Experience working with diverse populations in home & community care environments or hospital settings is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct intake assessments, patient care planning, and case management effectively.
