Manual Machinist

Overview Conductix‑Wampfler, a global leader in mobile electrification, seeks a career‑minded machinist focused on quality and continuous improvement. The role involves daily production, scheduling, and setup of manual machines with a variety of materials and special customer projects. Responsibilities Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements. Mark, scriber, and reference dimensions on material or workpiece to guide machining operations. Select, align, and secure holders, fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on mills, lathes, and drill presses. Set and calculate controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut; operate machine control media. Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjust controls as required. Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Setup machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings. Assemble parts into complete assemblies and verify dimensions and alignment. Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly problems. Build fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning and support the 5S program. Maintain quality and EHS policy and uphold core values. Qualifications Associate’s degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool or Die Technology. Experience 3‑5 years in a manufacturing environment with a quality focus. Ability to run and set up manual equipment. Problem‑solving skills and ability to verify and correct engineering data. Proficiency with 5S, quality systems, and EHS requirements. Education & Experience Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or technical school and two years related experience; or a minimum of four years of job‑shop related experience; or certification from a qualified apprenticeship program.
