Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing critical care to pediatric patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions in a state-of-the-art facility. Candidates must bring their license on the first day and possess strong pediatric ICU experience, with at least one year of cardiovascular experience preferred.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, Wisconsin
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license, at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in a high-acuity hospital, strong Pediatric ICU experience, at least 1 year of cardiovascular experience, Epic EMR experience, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, pass telemetry test prior to start
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, trauma level II experience, experience with specialized pediatric procedures and equipment such as ECMO, CRRT, VAD, and Vascular Access Devices
• Certifications: AHA BLS and PALS required
• Additional Information: Candidates must pass strict pass/fail telemetry exams (adult and pediatric). Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted; travel experience is not required.
• Unit Details: Critical care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents; unit census approximately 18 patients; comprehensive support services available including respiratory, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Care includes patients with head injuries, neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, and transplant patients.
• Special Procedures/Equipment: CRRT, ECMO, VAD, telemetery monitoring, complex airway management, special pediatric procedures, and neonatal care.
• Additional Notes: Traveler must be able to float as needed, including potential assignments in NICU and general pediatric care areas.
