Job Summary:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized family-centered care to critically ill or injured children in a state-of-the-art facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position offers a challenging environment focused on the care of pediatric patients with complex medical needs and requires a high level of clinical competence.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Schedule: Evening/Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required. Minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, 3 years of high acuity hospital experience including Pediatric ICU and Cardiovascular (CV) experience, at least 1 year of CV experience, and 2 years of recent acute care in the last 3 years in the specialty. Certifications such as American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required. EMR experience with Epic Meditech or Cerner.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience, teaching hospital experience, experience working both PICU and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
• Skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, managing ports, blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, arterial line management, ventilator management, ECMO, PICC line management, PICU procedures, and other advanced pediatric ICU skills.
• Additional Information: Candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to clinical start. Floating may be required within scope of practice. Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
