Certified Medical Assistant I - Full Time, Days - AMG Endocrinology - Summit Summit, NJ, United States and 1 more Job Description Atlantic Medical Group Endocrinology at Summit and Union is looking for a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant for weekday, day‑time hours. The role involves providing direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a physician and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure smooth practice operations and excellent patient care. Accountabilities Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools. Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision. Assists with walk‑in and scheduled clinic visits, ensuring verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. Takes vital signs: typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams. Assists with examinations: works closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks. Collects and prepares laboratory samples: instructs patients on how to collect samples or draws blood. Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care. Assists with referrals of patients to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent. National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT. Preferred 1 year of experience in health care services. Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field. 2+ years experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting. Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, active listening, adaptability to a fast‑pace environment, and upmost professionalism at all times. BLS upon hire. EPIC or similar EMR system. Ability to work within computer systems.
