Litigation Docket Clerk

Overview A leading law firm is seeking a Litigation Docket Clerk to join its San Francisco office. This role provides critical docketing, e-filing, and administrative support to the firm's managing attorney function and litigation support team. The position requires frequent interaction with attorneys, leadership, and staff, serving as a key point of contact within the department. A strong client service mindset, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update litigation docketing systems by recording case information and tracking deadlines
- Calculate and monitor procedural due dates under supervision
- Provide e-filing support through federal (PACER/CM/ECF) and state court systems
- Assist with ongoing maintenance and accuracy of the litigation docket
- Provide administrative support to the managing attorney function and department leadership
- Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, and other legal/administrative documents
- Create and maintain departmental files, databases, and internal resources
- Perform data entry and coordinate with firm personnel to ensure data accuracy
- Prepare and process invoices, maintaining organized financial records
- Support development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures
- Assist with additional projects and administrative tasks as needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment
- Experience with docketing/calendaring systems (e.g., Milana, eDockets, CompuLaw, MA3000) preferred
- Familiarity with federal e-filing systems (CM/ECF, PACER) and/or California state court e-filing strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based systems
- Experience working with databases and data management tools
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism and client service (internal and external)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, as needed
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
