Mobile Youth Crisis Clinician

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Crisis Clinical Coordinator, the Crisis Clinician will provide rapid response screening, assessment, and counseling intervention services to youth and families experiencing urgent psychological and emotional problems. The incumbent must conduct risk assessments, consult with supervisors or DPBHS workers to determine appropriate levels of care, and provide short‑term therapeutic crisis intervention services for up to 30 days. The incumbent is also responsible for therapeutic documentation from intake through discharge. Essential Functions Risk Assessment: maintain professional, trauma‑informed interactions; use critical thinking and risk‑management skills to determine least restrictive level of care; understand warning signs and risk factors for suicide and harm; develop safety plans and deliver diagnostic and therapeutic crisis intervention services. Case Management: provide therapeutic recommendations and referrals; communicate and document with the DPBHS team; collaborate with stakeholders to stabilize crisis situations; keep complete, accurate, and timely documentation. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention: plan and administer solution‑focused and trauma‑informed interventions to maintain safety, build skills, and address problem solving, communication, and relationship conflicts. General Responsibilities: uphold professional standards; maintain a quality code of conduct, ethics, and professionalism; provide goal‑directed and team‑oriented services; communicate effectively with all stakeholders; participate in clinician on‑call rotation; support after‑hours telehealth for 11 p.m.–7 a.m., 2–3 days a month. Competencies & Capabilities Reliability & Flexibility Customer Service Written and Verbal Communication Collaboration and Teamwork Assessment and Intervention Skills Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a Human Services field. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited school in a Human Services field. Education or training in suicide risk prevention and intervention. Work Environment & Travel Community‑based offices in Lewes, Dover, or Newark, DE. Travel to client locations is required.
