Inpatient dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition assessment to infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsible for documentation in the medical record. Assess the nutritional status through screening and the presence of malnutrition using the Malnutrition Screening Tool. Perform malnutrition diagnosis, interventions, and monitoring to improve nutrition status, reduce medical costs, and decrease length of stay. Utilize physician-driven protocols or facility-specific processes to implement, initiate, or modify orders for diet or nutrition-related actions. Manage nutrition-related laboratory tests and medications, as well as provide nutrition education and counseling. Participate in managing nutrition support therapies, such as enteral and parenteral formula selection. Adjust rates based on energy needs or laboratory results. Incorporate designated medications and vitamin/mineral supplements into nutrition solutions as needed. Engage in facility-wide and departmental Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs. Participate in QAPI teams to enhance processes and patient care. Attend departmental meetings, staff development sessions, patient care rounds, and professional programs.
