Prep Cook
SAGE Dining Services is seeking reliable Prep Cook for campus dining at a private college in the Boston area in Brookline, MA overlooking the city. Here you will be a part of a team with scratch-cooked food that is exciting, nutritious, and sustainable. We provide continuous training to enable you to rise within our organization.
A campus cook prepares food for students/staff, following recipes and safety standards, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory/ordering, and sometimes supervising junior staff, focusing on consistent quality, presentation, and serving meals for daily operations and special events while adhering strictly to health codes and portion control.
A campus prep cook prepares ingredients (washing, chopping, portioning), organizes workstations, maintains cleanliness and food safety, manages basic inventory/stocking, and assists chefs with simple cooking tasks, all to ensure smooth meal service for students, focusing on efficiency, following recipes, and adhering to health codes in a fast-paced environment, often part-time and flexible.
Pay Type: $20.00 Hourly
Time Commitment: Full Time
Schedule:
- Sunday 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM
- Monday 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM
- Tuesday 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM
- Wednesday 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM
- Saturday 11:00 AM - 07:30 PM
- Summers off

What you'll do:
- Interact positively with SAGE guests and Team Members.
- Maintain the customer service areas to ensure our guests enjoy amazing dining experiences.
- Prepare assigned menu items in accordance with SAGE recipes.
- Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques (HAACP).
What you'll need:
- Experience as a prep cook or line server in a commercial kitchen preferred.
- Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in English accurately.
- Ability to interact with SAGE guests and Team Members in a professional and positive manner and provide service with a smile!
