Manager Financial Planning and Analysis

Academy Sports + Outdoors is looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead a team of financial analysts and drive business outcomes across the organization. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent required; MBA or CPA preferred. Experience At least 8 years of experience in planning, forecasting, analysis, reporting, and business partnering. Prior FP&A or Corporate Finance experience required. Previous leadership experience preferred. Retail/e‑commerce experience a plus. Skills Strategic thinker with strong tactical delivery of analysis. Track record of delivering high‑impact results year‑over‑year. Experience working in a fast‑paced environment, meeting tight deadlines. Creativity, flexibility, entrepreneurial mindset. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with team, peers, senior management. Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, statements, projections. Experience creating policies and procedures for fiscal control. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills. Responsibilities Lead a team of financial analysts, providing strategic direction and prioritizing initiatives. Train, motivate and develop analysts to achieve team goals and future leadership. Support annual planning and monthly forecasting processes. Identify and drive process improvements within the organization. Establish clear ownership, timelines, and deliverables and hold business leaders accountable. Leverage internal and external networks to maximize business goals. Collaborate and guide senior management to define and enable business strategies. Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly executive reporting including performance, corporate goals, and ad‑hoc requests. Provide financial support related to feasibility analysis, budget to actual/open to buy, ROI, margin implementation, business case development and ensure process soundness. Learn company policies, procedures and safety rules. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical requirements: acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties. Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and professional behavior expectations.
