Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the healthcare team. Plans and implements patient and family education. Responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients. Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing is required. Employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned. Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Implement the identified plan of care. Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Evaluate one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines. Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice. Integrate research findings into practice. Physical Requirements: Exerting force occasionally and/or using a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects or people weighing up to 50 pounds. Maintaining a sitting posture for extended periods may include adjusting body position to prevent discomfort or strain. Maintaining close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read printed materials.
