Renewed Beginnings Counseling is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative team. Work Environment

This position is entirely remote and embraces a telehealth model, allowing counselors to connect with patients conveniently from their own environments. You will have access to a state-of-the-art electronic health record (EHR) system that facilitates seamless documentation and communication with both patients and multidisciplinary team members. Although primarily remote, occasional evening shifts may be required to accommodate patient scheduling needs, allowing for flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and adolescents, identifying their specific needs, strengths, and challenges associated with their mental health journey.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are informed by developmental considerations, family dynamics, and the latest evidence-based practices.
• Provide therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing a range of mental health issues; these may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care, sharing insights and updates regarding patient progress.
• Offer emergency support and crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute mental health challenges, ensuring safety and directing to appropriate resources as necessary.
• Educate patients and families about mental health issues, treatment options, and how they can engage with community resources to further support their wellbeing.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing our EHR system efficiently for documentation.
• Actively participate in scheduled team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and adapt to advancements in the field.
• Stay informed about current research, innovative treatment modalities, and best practices relevant to child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus predominantly on children and adolescents, working collaboratively with their families to support their mental health needs. Our patient population ranges from those experiencing mild anxiety and depression to more complex behavioral disorders requiring comprehensive intervention strategies. Your compassionate approach will be key in establishing trust and creating a therapeutic alliance with both the young patients and their caregivers.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as either an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
• In-depth understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Proven experience in providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families, showcasing a child-centered approach in your practice.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust effectively.
• Competence in electronic health record systems and other relevant technology to facilitate patient interactions and documentation.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience working with youth populations in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
• Background in delivering group therapy or specialized family therapy techniques is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
