ED RN

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Kohala Hospital is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care in a fast-paced ED setting. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality emergency care. Strong proficiency in EPIC electronic health records is required. The nurse will work 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to emergency patients, including assessment and treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical interventions.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the care process.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience working in a small hospital or rural emergency department.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC.
• Previous experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration in emergency care.

• Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a small, rural hospital environment.
• On-call availability may be required depending on department needs.
