Property Level Accountant II

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Property Level Accountant II on behalf of our client, a growing real estate company. This role is responsible for the accurate preparation of monthly financial statements for a portfolio of properties, ensuring financial integrity, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate brings strong property management accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams.


Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and complete monthly operating financial statements for several properties
• Track and reconcile cash activity, including receipts and disbursements
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Monitor and ensure timely payment of key expenses (mortgages, insurance, etc.)
• Partner with Property Managers to support financial reporting and operational insights
• Calculate and maintain accruals and prepaid expenses
• Maintain accurate general ledger records within property accounting systems
• Assist with audits, internal reviews, and management inquiries
• Collaborate with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting issues
• Support month-end close processes and reporting activities

Requirements include:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

• 4-6 years of property management accounting experience
• Experience managing multiple properties and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
• Proficiency in property management accounting software

Certifications:

• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus (not required)

Knowledge:

• Solid understanding of GAAP principles
• Knowledge of property management accounting practices
• Familiarity with financial reporting, reconciliations, and accrual accounting
