Excavation Estimator - Earthwork and Sitework Construction - Base Salary to 145k/year - Mokena, IL Our client is a long-standing, family-owned excavation and general contracting company specializing in commercial earthwork and site development projects throughout the greater Chicago area. This organization self-performs excavation and is actively expanding its earthwork division, creating an opportunity for an experienced estimator to play a key role in that growth. The Excavation Estimator will manage bids from initial review through final submission, focusing on commercial earthwork and sitework projects ranging from approximately $20,000 to $1M. Responsibilities Review civil drawings, specifications, and bid documents for commercial sitework and earthwork projects Perform detailed quantity takeoffs including excavation, grading, and material volumes Prepare complete cost estimates, bids, and proposals for assigned projects Identify scope gaps, risk factors, and necessary bid clarifications Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings as needed Conduct site visits to validate scope and conditions Coordinate project handoff to operations and project management teams upon award Collaborate with field teams and leadership throughout the estimating process Support relationship development with general contractors and project stakeholders Qualifications 2+ years of experience in earthwork, excavation, or sitework construction (estimating or field-based experience) Ability to read and interpret civil/site plans independently Experience performing quantity takeoffs for earthwork scopes (grading, excavation, or similar) Proficiency using construction takeoff or estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, WinEx Grade, Rocktek, or similar tools) Strong mathematical and analytical skills related to construction quantities and costing Ability to work onsite in Mokena, IL on a daily basis Ability to meet company driving requirements for site visits, where applicable Ability to comply with workplace safety policies, which may include pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing Compensation Base salary in the 100k - 145k/year range Comprehensive medical benefits 3 weeks of paid time off 401k with company match Company vehicle for job site visits Opportunity for advancement within a growing division #J-18808-Ljbffr AllSearch Staffing Group
