Night Audit Clerk

The Night Audit Clerk is responsible for reviewing and comparing operational paperwork with reports from the hotel/convention systems. Responsible for all guest folio's and ensures that all guest billings are provided on a timely basis. Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests
• Identifies, reports, reconciles, and follows-up on all discrepancies.
• Responsible for all guest billings. Ensures billings are accurate for all hotel services and guest folios for casino services.
• Ensures all billings are provided to the guests on a timely basis.
• Works with the Accountant to implement policies and procedures on all revenues, and cash inflows, credit card processing, and all hotel and convention billings.
• Prepares discrepancies reports for audit exception reports.
• Secures and maintains original financial documents.
• Verifies revenue positing and paid-out documentation.
• Assists with external audits by supplying requested documentation.
• Reviews source documents for compliance to control standards and policies.
• Retrieves original paperwork, separates based on audits and reviews for accuracy.
• Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of calls, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department, ensuring professional telephone etiquette.
• Records and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate.
• Welcomes visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel, maintaining professional and courteous demeanor.
• Assists with inventory counts.
• Assists with other audits as requested.
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High school diploma or GED plus two years' experience in accounting.
• Hotel accounting experience required.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.
• Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements and other requests for payment.
• Ability to use automated accounting system.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to count currency accurately.
• Skill in word processing and basic data entry.
• Skill in account balancing.
• Skill using 10-key.
• Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time.
• Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Guest Services team members.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
