Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment, handling various patient populations and working collaboratively with medical staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments and triage patients in the Emergency Room.
Manage intravenous (IV) starts and administer medications as required.
Utilize telemetry to monitor patients' vital signs and respond to urgent medical needs.
Participate in daily shift huddles to discuss patient care plans and team priorities.
Float between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on patient need.
Adhere to all protocols and procedures to maintain patient safety and care standards.

Schedule & Requirements

The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts of 12 hours in the evening (15:00 - 03:00). A minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week scheduling period is expected, which may include weekends every other week.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
Acceptance of 1st-time travelers; local candidates are welcome.
Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and MOAB.
Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Patient Care Details

The unit operates with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5 and handles approximately 250 visits per day across 101 beds, making this an engaging and dynamic environment for nursing professionals.

Additional Information

Unit orientation will last 24 hours, and scrub colors will be navy and white. All candidates should be prepared for potential floating within designated units based on patient needs.
