Work involves handling materials, operating equipment, and using small tools to cut, shape, and join materials according to technical specifications, while ensuring all tasks comply with safety regulations and quality standards. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative. Position exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Operates basic machinery and material handling equipment safely and efficiently Cuts, shapes, and bends materials (e.g., metals) using tools like saws, drills, oxy-acetylene torches, and grinders Assists in assembling a variety of parts and structures based on blueprints, sketches, and drawings Assists in welding and joining parts together to create a complete product Maintains cleanliness in the work areas, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials Prepares work areas; loads and unloads materials and equipment; ensures all necessary tools and materials are ready for use Assists in monitoring and ensuring product quality; immediately reports any discrepancies or issues to supervisors Performs routine maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order Works collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to achieve project goals Ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Follows organizational safety guidelines and protocols, performs job functions in a safe manner, and reports all safety hazards per established policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience; OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.
