RN Internal Traveler - Med Surg

Boulder Community Health is seeking an Internal Traveler Registered Nurse Med Surg who functions as a direct patient care giver within the units care delivery system, with increasing independence, and integrates nursing theories in patient care. Contracts are 13 weeks. External applications accepted. New hires cannot be ex-BCH employees. Weekends required. Qualifications include a Colorado RN license in good standing, BLS certification required through American Heart Association, and six months to one year RN clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities include providing direct total patient care for a specific group of patients with collaboration as needed, demonstrating clinical competence in performing nursing procedures and identifying the rationale underlying the nursing skills, identifying patient care problems, making interventions based upon an understanding of the biopsychosocial processes, assessing patient status systematically and anticipating and responding to changes in patient clinical condition, actively seeking participation of the patient, family, and other members of the health care team to assure continuity of patient care, communicating clearly in all aspects of documentation, practicing universal precautions appropriately, and may be required to perform point of care testing. It is the expectation that all care providers document accurately and in real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their department.
