Basic X-Ray TechnicianThe Basic X-Ray (BXMO) Technician provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. This position performs diagnostic imaging tests, prepares patients, operates x-ray machines and ensures patient safety during procedures. Assist patients with compassion and empathy. Provides quality patient care under the direct supervision of the Providers while directly reporting to the Regional Office Manager.Job Responsibilities:Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulationsPerform radiological duties in compliance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activitiesPrepare patients for imaging procedure by explaining the process, answering questions and ensuring they are comfortable and positioned correctlyTake x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety as directed by the Provider; ensure high quality images to aid in accurate diagnosis, which may involve adjusting equipment settings and positioning patients appropriatelyMaintain and clean x-ray equipment, ensuring it is operational and report any malfunctionsAccompany patients to examination or treatment room, measure and record vital signs, review patient's medical history, update information and changes in medical history as needed, and prepare them for examination or treatmentAssist Providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patientsWhere applicable, complete electrocardiograms and complete specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the ProviderAssist with notifying patients of lab results, administer vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysisEnsure exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, wash and dry instruments used, and prepare sterilization as neededResponsible for proper handling and storage of all medications stored in the clinicCross-train for front office responsibilities such as assisting patients with check-in process and verifying patient demographics and applicable insurance informationEducate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; ensure patient's understanding of care instructions and wellness planRepresent the clinic in a friendly, professional manner; treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative mannerDemonstrate and embody TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track's mission and core valuesComply with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding patient confidentiality as well as follow all principles of medical ethicsComplete required trainingPerform other duties as assignedJob Requirements:Strong patient focus with an ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, collaboration and partnerships, as well as ensuring positive patient, team member and provider experiencesEffectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, composure, and professional development; self-motivated and self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervisionAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of individualsAbility to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and in sometimes emotionally challenging situationsEffectively act as a liaison between patients and ProvidersAbility to follow established office routines and organizational policiesEducation and Qualification Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentActive BXMO certification for the State of FLActive CPR/BLS certificationExperience with EPIC or EMR platform, preferredWork Environment:This position operates on-site in a professional medical environmentConsistent use of technology platforms throughout shift to complete assigned work tasksAbility to move supplies and office equipment (up to 20 lbs.)Work Schedule and Travel:Typical Work Schedule: 40-hour work week Sunday through Saturday with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1x 6-hour shift within designated RegionEvery other weekend shift, Saturday and Sunday, requiredReliable transportation requiredMileage reimbursement available for eligible business travelMay require traveling to clinics outside assigned Region during trainingOvertime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needAbout the Organization:Tampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care have partnered together to create unique clinics for patients to receive compassionate and knowledgeable treatment.
