Job Description:

The Human Resources Specialist supports the day-to-day activities of human resources programs and processes. This role is responsible for providing support across recruiting, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, payroll support, and employee engagement activities.

The Human Resources Specialist serves as a trusted resource for fellow Sage employees, ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and confidentially. This position works closely with the other HR team members and supports the overall employee experience while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
• Work closely with external recruitment agencies when needed
• Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
• Process employee status changes, maintain personnel files, and ensure HR records are accurate and up to date.
• Support benefits administration activities, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
• Assist with payroll processing by collecting, reviewing, and submitting employee information and timekeeping data.
• Maintain HRIS records and generate standard reports as requested.
• Coordinate employee recognition programs, charitable initiatives, wellness activities, and company events.
• Assist with compliance requirements, record retention, and required employment documentation.
• Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
• Support training and development initiatives through scheduling, tracking, and administrative coordination.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
• Perform other HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Physical demands consistent with typical office environment.
• Walking, standing, bending, light lifting.
• Operation of office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) is a plus.

Skills & Experience:

• 2-4 years of Human Resources, recruiting, payroll, benefits, or similar experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with HRIS systems preferred, ADP a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Client focused mindset with a commitment to supporting employees.
