As our Gastroenterologist Physician, you will join a growing, physician-led practice at Dignity Health Medical Group - Merced, playing a pivotal role in the continued success, design, and development of our regional Gastroenterology service line.

\n

You will provide expert outpatient and inpatient clinical care to adult patients, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of gastrointestinal conditions including those affecting the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, and colon. You will also contribute significantly to shaping a robust care network in a highly collaborative environment.

\n

To be successful in this role, you will be a BC/BE Gastroenterology physician with a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse community, strong clinical and endoscopic skills, and a commitment to building a premier service line within a supportive, mission-driven environment. This opportunity is structured to support an excellent work-life balance, offering a predictable Monday through Friday schedule with shared telephone-only call responsibilities and absolutely no hospital inpatient call constraints.

  Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultative services, endoscopies, and routine GI screenings.

\n
• \n

  Lead the clinical design, growth, and development of the local Gastroenterology service line to expand regional access.

\n
• \n

  Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with a dedicated network of local primary care and specialty providers to optimize patient referral pathways.

\n
• \n

  Access advanced diagnostic services and hospital resources while utilizing modern facilities at Mercy Medical Center Merced.

\n

We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:

  2 year guaranteed annual base salary of $600,000 - $650,000/year 

\n
• \n

  Signing bonus and relocation assistance

Job Requirements \n

Required

\n

\n
• \n

  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution

\n
• \n

  Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA)

\n
• \n

  Active or eligible medical license in the state of California

\n
• \n

  Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification (or eligibility to obtain)

\n
• Completion of an accredited post-graduate Fellowship training program in Gastroenterology
\n
• Strong clinical and endoscopic skills, with comprehensive knowledge of gastroenterology care principles
