IT Service Technician - Digital Monitoring Tech

Salary: $52,000 - 67,600 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for an associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Electronics Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• We need someone who can read schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• You should be highly self-directed, able to work independently, and comfortable self-prioritizing tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are essential.
• We value professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to document your own work accurately.
• A strong aptitude for electrical and mechanical systems is required, along with electrical and/or electronics troubleshooting skills.
• You should have working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, computer networking basics, VPN connectivity, and remote access technologies.
• Experience with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence, is preferred.
• We are seeking candidates with 2+ years of experience in technical support, IT systems administration, remote monitoring, field service, or a similar technical function, or equivalent experience.
• Additional experience in Linux server administration, firewall configuration, network security, cybersecurity best practices, and Sophos security products is preferred.
• Prior work with electrical wiring and troubleshooting, railroad environments, sensors, technical writing, and basic railroad infrastructure knowledge is preferred.
• A valid drivers license is required, along with the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• You must be able to comply with FRA drug and alcohol regulations.
• A second language such as German or Spanish is a plus.

• We remotely monitor railroad and infrastructure monitoring systems.
• We provide customer technical support and manage incidents.
• We administer Linux, Windows, networking, VPN, and databases.
• We analyze data and prepare performance reports.
• We investigate errors and troubleshoot electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical systems.
• We maintain accurate records of incidents, service activities, and corrective actions in ticketing and reporting tools.
• We review data delivery and data quality to help ensure optimal system performance.
• We install, commission, and support monitoring technologies in the field.
• We work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Field Services teams.
• We support internal IT systems and customer backend infrastructure.
• We may provide on-call support when needed.
• We perform other duties as assigned.
• We travel up to 25% domestically and occasionally internationally for support, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training.
