Deli Associate

The Café Deli Service Team Member is responsible for an array of tasks to include, first and foremost, providing outstanding "extra mile" service to our guests, along with taking sandwich orders and pressing Panini's; stocking the pastry case; and ensuring a sparkling clean café area. Café Deli Service team members have an in-depth knowledge of our menu offerings and are always available to answer guest questions.


Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time / Required availability: open, weekend, and holiday availability

Pay: We Value Experience - Our starting pay ranges from $16.00-$18.75/hour , with higher starting pay for candidates who bring relevant experience.

Requirements

Experience:

• At least 1 year in a retail environment; preferably in a café/food service
• Previous customer service experience

Requirements

• Ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of guest service
• Takes sandwich orders, presses Panini's, and ensures guests receive all orders in a timely manner
• Maintains an orderly station in which surfaces are continually wiped down and supplies are fully stocked
• Correctly identifies weighed products and maintains accuracy when weighing items including using appropriate tares
• Properly bags or wraps guests' products as necessary
• Communicates regularly and effectively with the Back of House (BOH) staff regarding any FOH needs; salad/hot bar items running low, guest questions/inquiries, etc.
• Remains proactive when dealing with guests; make mindful decisions regarding both guest and store needs
• Takes responsibility for self-education regarding new products; asks to taste new products in order to provide guests accurate and knowledgeable information
• Remains up-to-date with department procedures and protocols
• Maintains open communication with the Prepared Foods Manager, BOH Manager & Lead, and FOH Manager
• Maintains appropriate conversations when in the presence of guests
• Provides courteous and accurate delivery when taking orders over the phone
• Arrives on time and is ready to begin work at the start of the shift; staff apron/chef coat is on
• Maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional guest service, follows through on all guest questions and always maintains HL's Guest Service standards
• Attends all required meetings, training, seminars and workshops
• Goes the extra mile for customers and maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service and sensitivity to customer's and co-workers needs
