With the help of a team and leadership you can rely on as well as training to build your skillset, we'll coach and encourage you every step of the way in well equipped, safe facilities where you're empowered to do what's right - whether you're performing routine maintenance or complete engine overhauls.ResponsibilitiesAs a Field Service Technician for Gordon Truck Centers / Freightliner Northest (also known as "mobile mechanic"), you can expect to conduct on-road and customer on-site maintenance services by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy duty equipment.Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.Working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.Develop technical skills through training opportunities.Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.Ensure the cleanliness of the mobile service truck.QualificationsHeavy equipment dealership experience is helpful in this job role; two years or more preferred. Three years of actual truck repair experience needed. Night shift, weekend shift, and lead/mentor differential pay available.For insurability and safety purposes, GTC uses front and rear facing dash cameras in all company vehicles.Must have valid driver's license and be insurable. CDL-A is a plus. Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain. A full complement of tools required for diesel equipment repair including wrenches and sockets to 1 ¼", 3/8" and ½" drive air tools, floor creeper and a roll around tool cabinet.Gordon Truck Centers, Inc.
