Senior Accountant

Kforce's client, a mission-driven healthcare organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, strong month-end close, audits, compliance, and process improvement. This position will be 5 days in the office to start and follow a hybrid schedule after training. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analyses
• Investigate financial variances and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records and audit documentation
• Support external audits and internal control compliance
• Research complex accounting transactions and recommend appropriate treatment
• Improve accounting processes through automation and standardization
• Support system implementations and special finance projects
• Provide guidance and accounting expertise to team member.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, lookup functions, and data analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability
