Corporate Governance Manager

About the role Monzo is looking for a talented, hands‑on, and diligent Corporate Governance Manager with knowledge and experience of Irish company law and corporate governance requirements to join the Monzo Europe Company Secretarial Team. Based in Dublin, you’ll become the heart of all things governance for Monzo Europe as we build out our bank in Ireland. Bringing your experience as a Corporate Governance Manager (or equivalent), you’ll be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced organisation and accustomed to applying critical and solution‑oriented thinking to secure good governance outcomes for Monzo. You’ll also play a crucial role in supporting the Monzo Europe Board and its committees and you’ll help to ensure our governance processes work smoothly while remaining in line with regulation and the high standards we uphold. Responsibilities Board and Board Committee management – act as Secretary to certain Board Committees and support the CoSec and Deputy CoSec with end‑to‑end management of the Monzo Europe Board, including coordinating meetings, managing logistics, preparing agendas, maintaining the calendar, dispatching papers, attending meetings, minute‑taking, maintaining interest registers, communicating action items, and maintaining the action tracker and decision log. Board coordination and director support – provide seamless support to Monzo Europe Board directors, act as a key contact for coordination, and support the induction and onboarding of new board members. Statutory and regulatory compliance – help ensure Monzo Europe remains compliant with statutory obligations, handle annual and ad‑hoc filings with the CRO, support corporate transactions with statutory compliance requirements, maintain corporate registers, and support governance‑related regulatory returns. Governance processes and procedures – aid in establishing and maintaining governance policies, processes, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and internal Group standards, perform periodic governance document reviews, own Board governance documentation, maintain the governance process note and checklist inventory, and support annual governance processes including the annual report and Board performance reviews. Governance business partner – collaborate with the Deputy CoSec, foster strong partnerships with business counterparts, act as a strategic partner to key stakeholders, and work on ad‑hoc projects within Monzo Europe and the wider Group. KYC requests – maintain corporate information documentation and support the business with KYC requests from third parties. Qualifications Qualified company secretary (ACG or equivalent) with Irish company secretarial experience, ideally in financial services or a regulated environment. Demonstrable knowledge of corporate governance principles and understanding of applicable financial regulations, such as the CBI Corporate Governance Requirements. Self‑starter with experience completing core corporate secretarial tasks, including statutory compliance, board coordination, acting as Secretary for Boards and Committees, and producing high‑quality technical minutes. Understanding of task relevance and ability to involve other parts of the business in the process. Confident communicator, able to engage at all levels of the organisation, including the Board and Executive Committee, with experience liaising with senior stakeholders concisely. Experience developing or enhancing governance processes to make them more effective or efficient, working well autonomously and collaboratively. Resilient and capable of pivoting and adjusting to new situations in a constantly evolving business environment. What’s in it for you Salary €66,000 – €80,500 plus performance‑tied incentive awards. Hybrid working model – based in our Dublin office 2–3 days a week. Flexible working hours with trust to work the hours needed to get the job done. Annual leave – 34 days including public holidays (24 holiday days + 10 public holidays). €1,200 learning budget each year for books, training courses and conferences. Private healthcare scheme. Pension scheme – minimum contribution 4% with Monzo matching additional contributions up to a maximum of 6%.
