Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) with every other weekend requirement.

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with orthopedic experience to join our fast-paced unit. The unit caters to orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients, and we need a nurse equipped to manage complex pain needs efficiently. The selected candidate will have experience in telemetry and IV start.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care for orthopedic and neurosurgery patients.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
• Assist in pain management and stabilization of post-surgical patients.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and IV starts as needed.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Be prepared to float to other med-surg units based on staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a focus on orthopedics.
• Must have BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• NIH certification is required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong telemetry skills and IV start competency.
• Ability to manage a patient caseload of 5-6 patients, with potential for flexibility up to 7-1 under special circumstances.
