Must-Have:
Trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Experience with non-titrating drips: Heparin, Lasix, Protonix.


Description:
This position requires working in a 20-bed unit that provides transitional care and general MedSurg.
Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, kidney, liver, GI, respiratory issues, CIWA patients, infections, and wounds.
This unit mostly sees medical patients, but any service line can admit, so there could be general surgeries and other patient types as well.
Patient ratios will be 1:5.
Support within the department includes CNAs and a Charge nurse who may take patients as needed.
There is 24/7 access to phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and residents.
Telemetry monitoring is available with bedside monitors and central monitors at the nurses' station.
The electronic medical record system in use is EPIC, along with Alaris for IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing.
Floating may occur within the scope of practice at the hospital.
Scheduling will include every other weekend rotation, and there is a requirement to work 50% of holidays in the contract.
Approval of requested time off is permitted for up to 7 days.
Schedules are made in 6-week increments, with travelers plugged into openings in the schedule.
