Nutrition Services – Floating Kitchen ManagerThis position is responsible for the daily operation of the school kitchen at a specified location which is yet to be determined. Shift Type: Full-Time typical 35-40 hours per week. Various locations are available.Essential Responsibilities and DutiesSupervise, train, and evaluate employeesCreate a work schedule to maintain efficiency and cost effectivenessOrder, accept deliveries, store and prepare food suppliesControl the quantity and quality of food preparedUse and maintain food service equipment in safe and sanitary surroundingsReport unsafe procedures or circumstances to kitchen supervisorMaintain inventory and food usage recordsServe as liaison between Nutrition Service Department, student, faculty, and parent/guardians.Attend scheduled managers' meetings.Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.District ExpectationsAll employees of the District are expected to adhere to the policies and regulations of the Board of Education, maintain appropriate certification and competencies necessary for the position, and demonstrate the values of the district at all times. For information on polices, regulations and values, visit cpsk12.org.Reporting RelationshipsReports To: Director, Assistant Director and/or Field Supervisor of Nutrition ServicesSupervises: Nutrition Services Cook/CashiersQualificationsMinimum: High School Diploma or GED preferred; 3 years of experience in school food service, or a related area. Must possess 3 or more years of Nutrition Services managerial experience. Able to relate positively to others, pass the ServSafe exam and become certified, endure repetitive assembly, extreme hot and cold environments, wet or humid conditions. Able to follow a recipe. Good personal hygiene. Able to learn computerized cashiering and other department specific software. These are essential functions of the job.Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in temperatures that exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit and between 15-32 degrees Fahrenheit.
