IT Application Developer Senior Specialist

Salary: $99,300 - 133,608 per year Requirements:

• We require five years of experience in application development using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, and .NET technologies, including software design patterns, Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design and modeling, T-SQL query writing, and building SQL Reporting Services and SQL Integration Services solutions.
• We require two years of experience with software development lifecycle management (SDLC).
• We require one year of experience working with application development security protocols and standards.
• We require one year of direct involvement with Agile or Scrum practices.
• Qualified candidates must meet one of the following pathways:
• A masters degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related IT field plus three years of progressive professional IT experience in areas such as software consulting, analysis, design, programming, installation, maintenance, project leadership, technical support, or supervising IT staff.
• A bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related IT field, or equivalent, plus five years of the experience listed above.
• Three years as a Journey Level IT Professional in State Government performing the same type of experience.
• Nine years performing the experience listed above.

• We need working-level knowledge of project lead responsibilities.
• We need advanced knowledge of relational database design and development.
• We need advanced knowledge of C# programming and ASP.NET solution development.
• We need familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint Online and beyond, Azure DevOps Server 2020 and beyond, Internet Information Server 10 and beyond, HTML5, CSS, Agile/Scrum, Lean, and ITIL concepts.
• We need proficiency in SDLC practices, including documenting user requirements, project charters, testing strategies, and user test scripts.
• We need excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred: experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing large-scale development and integration projects.

• We lead cross-functional .NET application and database development as a senior specialist and project lead.
• We provide technical direction and oversight across front-end, middle-tier, and back-end development activities for the Medicaid and CHIP Quality Rating System project.
• We design, develop, test, implement, and maintain database and model-driven application architecture solutions for high-risk, high-visibility web-enabled systems.
• We support and maintain the system after it is launched into production.
• We serve as an application architect for early ideation, development, support, and enhancement work.
• We guide programmers and contribute advanced application development expertise across the full software development lifecycle.
• We evaluate architecture patterns, object-oriented design, abstraction methods, database modeling, querying, performance tuning, and security practices to select sound technical solutions.
• We integrate multiple APIs and disparate technologies to create end-to-end workflow solutions for agency automation needs.
• We act as a primary software architect and technical consultant for complex multi-user agency-wide and public-facing application systems, APIs, data models, and data integration solutions.
• We monitor industry direction and emerging technologies to assess their relevance to supported information systems.
• We lead technical demonstrations for research and development test projects and proof-of-concept work.
