Be the difference.Job SummaryPerform technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in the use of ionizing radiation for the purpose of radiographic diagnosis. Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by care providers and performs routine diagnostic procedures. Performs duties associated with operating radiologic equipment. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures. Performs diagnostic procedures limited to the following regions proficiently: chest (not to include breast), abdomen (non-contrast procedures only), skeletal structures to include upper and lower extremities, limited spine, skull, and sinuses. Follows prescribed safety standards in opening radiologic equipment.Instructs patients regarding procedures. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.Examines radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.Develops and processes radiologic film. Delivers film to requester for reading/interpretation.Maintains x-ray exam room. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies. Maintains established Practice policies and procedures, objectives and safety standards.Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
