Registered Dietitian, RD - Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Food Therapeutics - Full-time - Day

Job Summary The Dietitian provides quality nutrition care and education to patients and family members. They assess nutritional status, recommend nutrition therapy, provide counseling, support patient-focused care within assigned units, and adhere to department and hospital standards. Key Responsibilities Evaluate nutritional status using EMR and interdisciplinary team information. Apply nutrition screening and assessment to determine patient needs. Conduct nutrition-focused physical exams and maintain knowledge of malnutrition diagnostics. Document findings in the medical record per policy. Provide quality nutrition counseling to patients and families. Evaluate and recommend changes to nutrition care plans as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with team members. Assist with discharge planning. Precept dietetic interns and provide feedback for evaluations. Participate in department projects, including education services, interdepartmental nutrition programs, lectures, and community programs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required; NYS CDN preferred. 1–2 years of experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; data entry and computer skills. Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Collective bargaining unit: SEIU Local 144-MSB-NonRN Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $44.0314 - $44.0314 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The listed range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation or benefits.
