- Direct trade contractors, vendors, and field crews so the job keeps moving productively and on pace.
- Set clear standards for the field team and hold trade partners and staff accountable to schedule, safety, quality, and output.
- Stay on top of job site safety through regular walk-throughs and close coordination with the safety team.
- Champion a safety-first mindset and keep site operations aligned with internal policy and applicable regulations.
- Oversee everything logistical on site, equipment, deliveries, site access, material laydown, temporary facilities, and general site organization.
- Study drawings, specs, submittals, and other project documents to catch conflicts or buildability issues before they hit the field.
- Build and maintain the project schedule with the Project Manager, keeping key milestones and the completion date on track.
- Sequence near-term and longer-range field work to keep crews productive and efficient.
- Keep the Project Manager and project team informed on progress, staffing, safety, quality, and any open issues or needs.
- Run daily and weekly coordination meetings with trades and field staff, documenting decisions and commitments.
- Keep thorough, accurate daily logs, progress photos, as-builts, and other required jobsite records.
- Help carry out project changes in step with the project management team.
- Flag and help work through field issues, unforeseen conditions, RFIs, design conflicts, sequencing snags, buildability concerns.
- Get ahead of potential schedule risks and field obstacles, and bring solutions before they slow the job down.
- Keep an eye on workmanship to make sure finished work meets contract, company, and industry expectations.
- Coordinate inspections and make sure work is ready for review by owners, designers, code officials, and other stakeholders.
- Support closeout: punch list, inspections, commissioning, and turnover.
- Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and run professionally.
- Mentor and guide Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and other field staff.
- Represent the company well in front of clients, at inspections, in project meetings, and at industry events.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of field leadership experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or in a similar supervisory capacity.
- A track record of successfully running complex projects start to finish.
- Solid grasp of jobsite safety requirements, building systems, construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Demonstrated skill in building and managing schedules, coordinating multiple trades, and keeping a jobsite safe and productive.
- Comfort reading and interpreting blueprints, specs, contracts, shop drawings, and related documents.
- A strong eye for buildability and a proactive approach to resolving field conflicts.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to direct, motivate, and coordinate trade partners and field teams.
- Comfortable with field technology — tablets, project management and scheduling software, digital plan viewers.
