Its core philosophy is to provide clients with high-quality, dependable service at a fair cost. Role Description The Environmental Scientist is a full-time role based in Honolulu, HI. This position is responsible for conducting field investigations, collecting environmental data, supporting environmental studies for a variety of infrastructure and development projects along with other duties assigned by their supervisor. Daily tasks may include construction environmental oversight, performing site assessments, data management, regulatory inspections, and contributing to technical reports. The role also involves collaborating with engineers, inspectors, and project managers to evaluate environmental risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and recommend practical mitigation measures. The Environmental Scientist will engage with clients and HMA staff as needed to support permitting processes and project communications. Must be based on the island of Oahu and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEPA, Clean Water Act, state and local environmental regulations). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports. Ability to work safely in field environments for extended periods of time, lift and carry equipment as needed, and travel to project sites within the region.
