Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor - SCI Muncy

Salary: $51,868.00 - $104,716.00 Annually Location: Lycoming County, PA Job Type: Civil Service Permanent Full-Time Position Overview As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor for the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Muncy, you will use your trade knowledge to teach important skills that support safety and rehabilitation. This role allows you to work directly with inmates as they learn repair, installation, and maintenance tasks in the electronics field. You will play a key part in shaping a positive and productive training environment. Your instruction helps inmates gain skills that can support long term success. Responsibilities Teach inmates trade skills through classroom lessons and supervised practical work. Assign, supervise, and inspect inmate work tasks to ensure accurate completion. Issue, track, and inventory tools and supplies used during training and maintenance tasks. Repair and maintain communication, security, cabling, surveillance, and other facility electronic systems. Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment, or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirement: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. Benefits Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Telework is not applicable. Eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
