Buyer (Manufacturing) Location: Waynesboro, PA 17268

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $32.00 / hour

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential for extension or permanent hire!)

About the Role Randstad is looking for a skilled Buyer to join our global building technology client’s team in Waynesboro!

In this role, you will be the bridge between suppliers, intercompany feeder plants, and internal production teams. You will play a vital role in executing savings projects, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring a seamless supply chain. 

What We Are Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree OR at least 3 years of experience in a purchasing/planning role.
• Direct buying experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally metal-mechanic, refrigeration, electronics, or HVAC).
• Proficient understanding of MRP (Materials Requirement Planning); hands-on experience with SAP is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

How You Will Make an Impact

• Demand & PO Management: Analyzing MRP demand, placing Purchase Orders (PO/STO) on time, and securing firm confirmation dates/ETAs from suppliers.
• System Accuracy: Ensuring correct receipts in our ERP system (SAP), regularly executing exception messages, and reviewing open lines to eliminate past-due orders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Attending daily production meetings, communicating shortage risks to Planning and Production, and working with Warehouse/Logistics to quickly resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Supplier Relations & Performance: Monitoring vendor on-time delivery, analyzing monthly forecasts to share with suppliers, and resolving delivery, pricing, or invoicing issues (including Maple AP discrepancies).
• Problem Solving & Escalation: Analyzing Line of Balance (LOB) when vendors face hurdles, and escalating larger issues to Global Procurement or Regional Materials via JIRA.
• Continuous Improvement: Supporting inventory reduction projects, managing excess & obsolete items, and assisting with quality escalations, ISO requirements, and engineering changes.
