Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional who enjoys hands-on litigation support, active case management, and preparing matters for depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial.

The Litigation Paralegal will provide direct support to one or more attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, with a strong focus on discovery, court filings, document management, deadline tracking, trial preparation, and client communication. Estate, trust, probate, or fiduciary litigation experience is highly preferred, but candidates from civil litigation, commercial litigation, employment, real estate, insurance defense, or other litigation-heavy practices are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys through pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and post-trial matters.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, notices, discovery documents, correspondence, and other legal materials for attorney review.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, discovery, exhibits, evidence, witness materials, trial notebooks, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trial logistics, witness appearances, expert communications, court filings, and outside vendor support.
- Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines, manage filing dates, and ensure attorneys have organized, accurate, and accessible case materials.
- Assist with factual investigation, legal and factual research, discovery review, chronologies, summaries, indexes, exhibit lists, and witness lists.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage active litigation case files and provide direct support to one or more attorneys.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, exhibits, and trial materials.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, court filings, and trial preparation.
- Track litigation deadlines and maintain organized electronic and physical case documentation.

- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on litigation paralegal experience required.
- Significant experience with litigation preparation and trial support required.
- Strong understanding of the litigation process, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Experience drafting and preparing legal documents for attorney review.
- Knowledge of court filings, legal terminology, litigation procedures, and deadline management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using legal document management or case management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent proofreading ability.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, document management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Professional, dependable, proactive, and able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and case information.

Preferred Qualifications

- Estate, trust, probate, or fiduciary litigation experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in commercial litigation, civil litigation, employment litigation, real estate litigation, insurance defense, or another litigation-heavy practice area is a plus.
- Experience preparing trial notebooks, exhibit binders, witness materials, deposition exhibits, chronologies, and case summaries.
- Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys and managing a busy litigation caseload with minimal supervision.
