Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Interventional Radiology

We are seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. This position is based on the main hospital campus and requires a commitment of 3-4 shifts per month. The Interventional Radiology service operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities. This hire will work collaboratively with a team of Interventional Radiologists while practicing with a high degree of autonomy in the evaluation and management of patients undergoing image-guided procedures. Responsibilities include performing biopsies, paracenteses, thoracenteses, lumbar punctures, and port insertions, as well as providing peri-procedural care and participating in inpatient rounding. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, procedure-oriented provider who is comfortable practicing independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting. Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Education, Licenses, and Credentials Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Physician Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required. Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred. Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Interventional Radiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Hospital Medicine, or another procedural specialty strongly preferred.
