About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Campus Ministry to provide spiritual leadership and ensure a vibrant, theologically grounded, and accessible campus worship experience. The successful candidate will lead the Campus Ministry team, oversee pastoral care, and create effective relationships with faculty and staff to integrate spiritual components into various areas of the campus. This role also involves culture development, including the hiring and training of faculty and staff to align with the Christian mission, and fostering church relations to support the university's Lutheran identity. Applicants must be ordained or commissioned ministers of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, with a strong commitment to the Gospel and the faith-based mission of the institution. A Master's degree in Divinity or a Doctorate in a ministry-related area is preferred, along with at least 3 years of parish or institutional ministry experience. The role requires superior communication skills, mission-mindedness, and the ability to relate well to diverse campus constituencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in mentoring young people, particularly college-aged students, in their spiritual growth, and be adept at both team and independent ministry. A commitment to the values of the institution, including diversity, inclusion, and equity, is essential.
