Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience required License: Missouri or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with cardiology, telemetry, and neuro stepdown Description: Can accept 36 or 48 hours. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5. First-time travelers are accepted. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments are needed as per unit requirements. Weekend requirement is a minimum of 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, including a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Will float within scope to meet facility needs. This is a float pool position; there will not be a home unit assigned. Responsibilities include floating between approximately five units across Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU Departments and other campuses. Required certifications are BLS and NIHSS. Preferred certification is ACLS. Skills required include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and emergency response. Experience with managing conditions such as sepsis, renal failure, AFIB, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID is necessary. Preferred skills include sheath removal and feeding tube care and management. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are also required, including accessing ports and blood product administration. No on-call requirement. Block scheduling is not accommodated. Local candidates must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility. No pending licenses accepted. No more than 7 days of scheduled time off is allowed. Guaranteed hours are 3 shifts per 13 weeks. Applicant must be compliant with completing documentation and required modules by deadlines. Completion of specific training and modules is necessary prior to the start date. Failure to meet deadlines may result in a delayed start date. Travelers must be willing to float between departments and units as needed. All candidates must ensure their compliance with specific training requirements before starting. Upon submission, candidates must finalize all schedule preferences and time-off requests. Mid-contract cancellations for new assignments are not permitted.
