About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 to 2 years required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: - BLS - NIHSS - ACLS preferred Must-Have Skills: - Cardiac Telemetry - Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias - Blood Product Administration - Central Line Care and Management - Feeding Tube Care and Management Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Progressive Care Unit setting. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:5. Previous experience in a similar setting is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse will be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of 8 shifts every six weeks. Holiday shifts may be required based on unit needs. Experience with monitoring and telemetry is essential. The nurse will care for patients with various diagnoses, including sepsis, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID-19. The role includes management of pre and post-cardiac catheterization patients. Communication skills and proficiency in electronic medical records are necessary. The nurse will utilize advanced technologies and equipment such as virtual nursing tools and EKG devices. This position may involve special procedures and interdisciplinary support.
