About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit. Ratios are 1:5. First-time travelers are accepted. Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required based on unit needs. Weekend requirements include 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling period, combining Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The clinician may float within the scope to meet facility needs. This is a float pool position, and there will not be a home unit assignment. The RN will float between approximately 5 units covering Medical/Surgical, Intermediate, and PCU departments as well as other campuses as needed. Required certifications include BLS and NIHSS. Preferred certification is ACLS. Skills required include working in multiple settings such as MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Step-down. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills are necessary, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Pre- and post-cardiac catheter care are required. Experience with conditions such as sepsis, wound care, renal failure, AFIB, GI bleeding, stroke, and COVID is necessary. Preferred skills include sheath removal and feeding tube care and management. Experience in IV therapy, including accessing ports and blood product administration, is required. A background in central line care and management is necessary. The position does not require on-call responsibilities. The schedule is not open to accommodating block scheduling. Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered. Travelers are required to have licenses in hand at the time of submission. The position allows a maximum of 7 days for time off. Special requirements include proficiency with Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell.
