About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Basic Dysrhythmia Must-Have: - Good attitude - Team-oriented mindset Description: This is a 25-bed telemetry unit. We primarily care for patients with renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general medical-surgical needs. Focus on safety and quality is paramount. There are high expectations for documentation compliance related to central lines, Foley catheters, C. difficile, and other healthcare-associated infections. Teamwork and support from charge nurses are highly valued. Technicians are available to assist on the unit. Basic equipment includes EKG machines, bladder scanners, sit-to-stand devices, Hoyer lifts, hover mats, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis. Our documentation system is Meditech - EBC. Staff are required to work at least every third weekend and three shifts per week. Floating to similar units is possible. Patient experience is a primary focus, including nurse courtesy and respect. Daily nursing leader rounds are conducted for every patient. We engage in pre-round discussions to establish a personal connection and validate patient preferences. Post-rounds include coaching on areas requiring improvement and recognition of positive feedback from patients. Monitoring includes whiteboards, room tidiness, safety, and quality measures. The unit is certified for several specialties and has received recognition for excellence. A supportive environment is provided with a clinical educator and unencumbered charge nurse. The unit is known for advanced technology, including a new robotic surgery system.
