Family Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney in Rockville, MD. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in family law, including trial experience, and possess proficient knowledge of legal practice management software. Duties Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, adoption, estate planning, and domestic violence cases. Independently manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective resolution of all matters. Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Prepare for and represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and mediations. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the legal process. Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure comprehensive client representation. Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations, as well as firm policies and procedures. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing of the Maryland state bar. Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law, with a proven track record of handling complex cases. Demonstrated experience in trial preparation and courtroom representation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and court personnel. Preferred Skills Familiarity with mediation and arbitration processes. Bilingual a plus (Spanish). Active participation in professional associations and community organizations. Proficient knowledge of Clio and similar legal practice management software.
