HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE: 1)You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a departmentcentered on the health and well-being of our student population bycaring for them in their times of illness or injury. 2) You'll be reporting to the Office Manager, in a regulartwelve-month, 100% university staff appointment. 3) You'll serve in a multifunction capacity within the MedicalRecords/Receptionist office to ensure expedient and friendlypatient flow. 4) You'll verify eligibility for services, compile, file, maintainand transfer student health records, and fulfill legal andaccreditation standards. 5) You'll provide patient and visitor information and direction ina pleasant and efficient manner. 6) You'll determine patient needs, and make appointments orimmediate referrals to clinical personnel as appropriate and enterdata as required for immunizations and medical records. 7) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $39,000 -$42,700, along with a comprehensive benefitspackage which includes health insurance, paid leave,retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so muchmore! Required Qualifications Ability to exercise goodjudgment and initiative in accomplishing duties. Ability to deal diplomatically, efficiently, helpfully andpleasantly with the public, both in person and on the telephone andin diverse situations is of prime importance. Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions andto make decisions on medical referrals based on written protocolsand verbal instructions. Strong oral communication skills and an outgoing manner with the ability to interact and maintain effective working relationshipswith the patients, general public and SHC staff. Experience in dealing with the public. Experience in a medicalsetting with demonstrated basic knowledge of medicalterminology. Basic computer experience and knowledge desired. Knowledge of Virginia immunization requirements. Previous experience in a medical office setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in amedical office setting; basic knowledge of medical terminology andelectronic medical records.
