dures.Capable of performing all of the duties/responsibilities of a Histotechnician I a
nd II.Ensure proper accessioning and labelling of all tissue sa
mples.Process paperwork associated with accessioning and repo
ssing.Embed processed tissue in par
affin.Perform microtomy of embedded t
issue.Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin sta
ining.Perform cover slipping of stained slides either manually or automati
cally.Prepare solutions and reagents for special stain proce
dures.Obtain and validate tissue used in special s
tains.Perform all special stain proce
dures.May prepare solutions and reagents for IHC proce
dures.May obtain and validate control material used in IHC proce
dures.May perform IHC te
sting.Perform filing of finished blocks and s
lides.Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and troubleshoot minor equipment fai
lures.Document remedial actions such as repairs or repeated
tests.Provide training and guidance to Histotechnician, students and lab
aides.Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activ
ities.Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards ar
e met.Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regula
tions.Maintain a clean and well-organised work
