Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Fenton, MO that is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support a large-scale reconciliation project involving high volumes of financial transaction data. This role will be responsible for reviewing historical data files, reconciling transactions from annual summary files down to daily transaction activity, identifying discrepancies, and resolving exceptions through logical analysis and investigation.Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and reconcile large volumes of financial data from annual and historical transaction files
• Break down summary-level data into daily transaction activity and compare against recorded financial records
• Utilize advanced Excel functions, Pivot Tables, filters, lookups, and data analysis tools to identify variances
• Investigate discrepancies and determine appropriate resolution based on available information and business logic
• Review and resolve transaction exceptions that do not fit standard reconciliation patterns
• Document findings, adjustments, and reconciliation outcomes accurately and consistently
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to clarify unusual transactions and establish resolution methodologies
• Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve reconciliation processes
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive analytical tasks

Skills

• Recent accounting or financial analysis experience; Entry level candidates with advanced Excel skills will also be considered
• Experience working with large volumes of transactional or financial data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to apply reasoning and judgment when data inconsistencies arise
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining focus and quality

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:

• Pivot Tables
• VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• SUMIFS
• Data validation
• Sorting and filtering large datasets

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous reconciliation, accounting, audit, banking, or financial analyst experience
• Experience working with ACH, banking transactions, cash reconciliation, or payment processing data
• Exposure to data cleanup, data validation, or financial systems conversions
• Understanding of accounting principles and transaction flow

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
