Senior Accountant - Reinsurance

We’re seeking an experienced Reinsurance Accountant to support complex accounting and reporting activities across multiple operations within a collaborative, team?oriented environment. This role partners closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure accurate reinsurance administration, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement across multiple statutory and regulatory frameworks. Responsibilities Oversee reinsurance accounting activities, including treaty administration and transaction processing Prepare and support reinsurance reporting across US GAAP, NAIC, and Bermuda Statutory bases Analyze reinsurance transactions and ensure accurate recording and settlement Support internal and external reporting requirements, audits, and reconciliations Partner with cross?functional teams to improve workflows, documentation, and controls Assist in strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards Contribute to ongoing process improvements and operational efficiencies Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 6+ years of progressive experience in reinsurance accounting or insurance?related accounting Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, treaties, and accounting principles Experience working across multiple accounting frameworks (US GAAP, statutory reporting) Highly analytical with strong attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast?paced, team?based environment Advanced Excel skills; experience with insurance or reinsurance systems preferred Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
